Ruth Lathi, MD Stanford University

Dr. Lathi is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Research, Director of the Stanford Multi-specialty Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Program, and the Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Fellowship Program. Her research areas include recurrent pregnancy loss, the role of preimplantation genetic diagnosis in the treatment of reproductive disorders, genetic testing of miscarriages, and long-term outcomes of fertility diagnosis and treatments. Her current research focuses on genetic and endometrial contributions to miscarriage as well as the male contribution to miscarriage. The HOPE project is a direct extension of her previous work demonstrating that although cytogenetic abnormalities in miscarriage are common, there are still many miscarriages and couples’ infertility that remain unexplained with current technologies.

Snyder

Michael Snyder, PhD Stanford University

Dr. Snyder is the Stanford W. Ascherman, MD, FACS, Professor and Department Chair of Genetics, and Director of the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine. Dr. Snyder’s lab applies omics approaches of genome sequencing, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, DNA methylation and microbiome assays to the analysis of human disease. These integrative omics approaches are being applied to help understand the molecular basis of disease and the development of diagnostics and therapeutics. In line with Dr. Snyder’s research areas, the HOPE project examines multiple genetic determinants of pregnancy prognosis through comprehensive modeling based on deep phenotyping and a genetically diverse set of causes.

Aleks Rajcovic, PhD UCSF

Dr. Rajkovic is Professor of Pathology and Obstetrics/Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. He is a Stuart Lindsay Distinguished Professor in Experimental Pathology I. He serves as the UCSF Chief Genomics Officer and is the Medical Director and Chief of the Center for Genetic and Genomic Medicine. He also serves as the Director of the Genomic Medicine Initiative, a translational arm of the Institute of Human Genetics. Research areas of interest for Dr. Rajcovic includes the mammalian reproductive tract and associated pathologies. As part of the HOPE project, he will provide my expertise in genomic medicine, functional studies, clinical design and interpretation of genomic results including correlation of genotypes with phenotypes.

Marina Sirota, PhD UCSF

Dr. Sirota is Associate Professor in the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute at the University of California, San Francisco. Her research interests lie in developing computational methods in integrative biology and applying them to discover novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for complex disease. She comes with a background in computational biology and bioinformatics, and substantial training and experience in developing and applying computational and statistical methods to integrate diverse molecular and clinical datasets. For the HOPE project, she will be leading the computational efforts which include single cell transcriptomics as well as eQTL analysis as well as the data repository development.
